Charly & Nigel had a perfect winter wedding at Southend Barns on 30th December 2014. Starting the drive down to Chichester five days after Christmas at 5.30am and -5 degrees was a slight shock to the system. However, the sunrise on the frost covered trees near the cottage where Charly & Nigel were staying gave an indication as to how nice the day was going to be.
I met them in the morning at a holiday cottage, filled with friends and family, all busy getting ready or preparing breakfast whilst the bridesmaids had hair and make up done in the dining room. Hair/Make up was done by Victoria Fraser-Gadd, this was the second time I’ve worked with her and hopefully not the last. Her work speaks for itself.
The wedding was a short drive away at North Mundham Church. The vicar gave a great, modern service and was happy to give me free reign to sneak around during the service to various vantage points. Following the service and some family shots outside it was on to Southend Barns, a converted dairy farm for the reception.
Having moved out to Australia about three years ago, there were some nice Ozzy touches in the details from a traditional Pavlova cake through to eucalyptus leaves arranged within the flowers.
The evening rounded off nicely with a firework display and some amazing hot chocolate for the guests whilst they toasted marshmallows around the outside fireplace.
