On the 24th May I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Emma & Bob. It was a wedding I’d been looking forward to for a while having met the couple through a friend last year. Despite great weather all week the heavens opened several times throughout the day but that did not dampen the day in the slightest.
The wedding was in a delightful church in Norfolk called St Bartholomew’s in a village called Brisley. After a tea and wedding cake reception the wedding party drove off to the main reception venue in an old vintage bus, complete with the groom’s name on the front.
Luckily for me the bus had a top speed of 30mph and took a good hour and a half to get to the reception venue, the amazing Hockwold Hall in Suffolk. This gave me ample time to shoot all the little details in the dining area before getting the wedding party arriving.
One of the highlights for me as a photographer was the amazing light appeared for a brief half hour window before the meal. Having been a grey day for that majority of the day, an amazing golden light appeared that led to some lovely misty shots that I hope Emma and Bob will cherish forever.
